6.1 Earthquake Strikes Northern Japan, No Tsunami Threat
A 6.1 magnitude earthquake targeted Iwate and Aomori prefectures in northern Japan on Tuesday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
Centered along the northern coast of Iwate Prefecture, the quake led to no immediate damage and did not prompt a tsunami warning.
