Atlanta Mother Sentenced to Life for Killing Sons in Oven
Lamora Williams found guilty of murdering her children by placing them in an oven
Lamora Williams, a 24-year-old mother from Atlanta, Georgia, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of her two sons, Ja'Karter Penn, 1, and Ke'Yaunte Penn, 2.
According to the _Law & Crime_ report, Williams killed her sons by placing them in an oven and turning it on.
The incident occurred in 2017, and Williams was convicted on 14 counts, receiving an additional 35-year prison sentence on top of her life term.
Williams called 911, claiming she found her sons dead after leaving them with a caregiver, and pleaded for help, insisting the incident was not her fault.
However, evidence and an arrest warrant supported her conviction, with further confirmation by the autopsy report indicating the boys suffered extensive 'thermal changes' due to prolonged exposure to heat.
Throughout the trial, Williams maintained her innocence and pleaded not guilty.
Her mother, Brenda, reported that Williams struggled with mental health issues and required suicide watch in jail.
