Boeing and Google Pledge $1 Million each to Trump's Inauguration Fund
Major American Corporations Announce Support for the Inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump
In a noteworthy move, US aviation giant Boeing and technology behemoth Google have each committed to donating $1 million to the inauguration fund of President-elect Donald Trump, as confirmed by the companies and reported by BBC News.
This financial support is part of a broader corporate backing by American industry leaders as Trump prepares for his second term in the White House, with the inauguration slated for January 20.
Boeing, a longstanding figure in American aviation, has reiterated its dedication to its bipartisan history by supporting US Presidential Inaugural Committees.
"We are pleased to continue Boeing's bipartisan tradition of supporting US Presidential Inaugural Committees," stated a representative for the company.
Boeing has consistently contributed similar amounts for the past three presidential inauguration funds.
This donation comes at a time when Boeing is attempting to recuperate from recent challenges including safety and quality control issues, as well as financial setbacks following a strike last year.
Notably, the company is also involved in constructing the new presidential aircraft, the renowned Air Force One, with the expectation of its introduction possibly as soon as next year.
During Trump's first presidential term, he demanded that Boeing renegotiate its contract for Air Force One, criticizing the original arrangement as exorbitant.
Google, joining this corporate chorus, confirmed its contribution equal to Boeing’s, and plans to enhance global access to the event by streaming the inauguration on YouTube and providing a direct link on Google's homepage.
"Google is pleased to support the 2025 inauguration, with a livestream on YouTube and a direct link on our homepage," stated Karan Bhatia, Google's global head of government affairs and public policy.
This initiative forms part of a wider trend among major US entities, encompassing sectors from technology to energy.
Oil giant Chevron has also acknowledged its contribution, though it opted not to reveal the donation's size.
Bill Turene, Chevron's manager of global media relations, affirmed, "Chevron has a long tradition of celebrating democracy by supporting the inaugural committees of both parties.
We are proud to be doing so again this year."
Moreover, automotive manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors, and Toyota have also declared their $1 million donations to the inaugural committee.
The participation of these varied sectors underscores a widespread corporate embrace of this political tradition.
The commitment of these corporations to Trump's inauguration reflects their desire to maintain strong relationships with the administration, showcasing a continued tradition of bipartisan support for democratic processes in the US.
As the inauguration approaches, the vast array of corporate endorsements highlights their recognition of the significance and formality of this presidential milestone.
