The body was discovered in the area of Agia Marina by the island's deputy mayor and a state TV journalist.
Police confirmed that the body was found on rocky terrain close to the sea, not in a cave as earlier reports suggested.
Mosley was last seen alive at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and his disappearance triggered a search operation.
He was on the island with his wife.
