Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed his outrage following a controversial boxing match at the Paris Olympics, where a transgender athlete, Algeria’s Imane Khelif, defeated female boxer Angela Carini from Italy.
Carini forfeited the match after 46 seconds, citing severe injuries.
The bout has sparked significant backlash, with Vucic calling the event 'madness' and questioning the fairness of allowing 'biological males' to compete against women.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and former world champion Russian-Australian boxer Konstantin Tszyu also criticized the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) decision.
Khelif had previously been disqualified by the International Boxing Association (IBA) due to failing a gender eligibility test, but was allowed to compete in Paris, prompting further protests from the IBA.
