Egypt's Abdel Fattah al-Sisi To Be Sworn In For 3rd Term Today

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, 69, will be inaugurated for his third term today in a ceremony at the new parliament building outside Cairo, as confirmed by the state newspaper Al-Ahram.
Sisi, who has held power for over a decade and was re-elected with 89.6% of the vote, will officially start his term on Wednesday. His presidency, which follows his role in the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi, is expected to last six years, in accordance with the constitution.

Following his inauguration, a government reshuffle is anticipated. Sisi's latest term begins amidst a severe economic crisis, but recent foreign investments, including significant funds from the UAE and an increased IMF loan, could potentially aid recovery. However, experts remain cautious, emphasizing the need for substantial economic reforms.
