Evolution of Elvis: AI Technology to Revive Presley in an Innovative Live Show
Elvis Presley will be resurrected virtually for "Elvis Evolution," a high-tech immersive concert. Utilizing AI, the performance features holographic versions of the icon crafted from his personal visuals. Debuting in London this November, the show plans to tour to Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo, following in the footsteps of the successful virtual concert "Abba Voyage."
London-based entertainment company Layered Reality has acquired global rights and will offer a digital Presley performing his hits in a UK stage show for the first time. CEO Andrew McGuinness promises a cutting-edge homage that lets fans explore Elvis's legacy as if walking in his shoes. Augmented reality and multi-sensory effects will complement the holographic projections.
Set in a yet-to-be-confirmed central London venue, which will also house an Elvis-inspired eatery and live music, the experience aims to transport fans through Presley's influential career. Elvis, who would've turned 89 this January, remains a cultural icon, known for smash hits like "Hound Dog" and awarded the US Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously in 2018.
2022 saw Baz Luhrmann's biopic of Presley, with Austin Butler's award-winning portrayal, and the release of "Priscilla," a film exploring Elvis's relationship with his former wife.
The surge in virtual performances, kickstarted by the ABBA experience which generated impressive revenue and economic impact for London, demonstrates their growing appeal. Rock band Kiss also concluded their final show with high-tech avatars, boasting an everlasting presence in the music scene.
