Trump administration moves to BAN essentially ALL artificial food dyes in the USA food supply at RFK Jr.'s direction

Six artificial food dyes to be eliminated by 2026, citing concerns over health impacts
The US administration has announced plans to ban essentially all artificial food dyes in the country's food supply.

The move aims to eliminate six specific dyes - Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Blue 1, Blue 2, and Green 3 - by the end of 2026. According to the FDA Commissioner, this decision reflects a shift in focus towards addressing the root causes of rising health issues, including cancer and diabetes, which are increasing at an alarming rate.

The goal is to establish a national standard for the food industry to transition from petroleum-based dyes to natural alternatives.

As part of this initiative, the administration will initiate a process to revoke authorization of citrus red 2 and orange B, and has requested that food companies remove Red 3 ahead of the scheduled deadline.

The move effectively seeks to remove all petroleum-based dyes from the US food supply, with the FDA Commissioner stating that the current approach is no longer acceptable as children's health continues to deteriorate.
