G20 Fails to Reach Agreement on Global Billionaire Tax
The US, leading the opposition, blocked a proposed 2% global tax on the world's richest 3,000 billionaires at a G20 meeting in Brazil. Despite Brazil's support, joined by France, Spain, South Africa, Colombia, and the African Union, the agreement was not reached. The G20 pledged ongoing discussions on progressive taxation.
