Human Remains Discovered in Search for Missing Australian Teen Pheobe Bishop
Discovery follows murder charges against housemates in connection with her disappearance.
Authorities in Queensland, Australia, have confirmed the discovery of human remains in the ongoing search for 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop, who has been missing since May 15, 2025. The remains were located near Good Night Scrub National Park, an area close to where Bishop was last seen.
This significant development occurred just hours after her two roommates, James Wood and Tanika Bromley, were arraigned on murder charges related to her case.
The remains have yet to be formally identified as belonging to Bishop; however, police are currently in communication with her family regarding the findings.
Wood, aged 34, and Bromley, aged 33, have also been charged with interfering with a corpse.
The two individuals are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court again on August 11.
Pheobe Bishop was reported missing after failing to board a flight she was scheduled to take.
According to police reports, Wood and Bromley were the last individuals to see her alive, having allegedly dropped her off at Bundaberg Airport on the day she disappeared.
In response to the discovery of the remains, a crime scene has been established at the location where they were found.
Forensic examinations are currently underway to determine the cause of death and gather additional evidence.
Law enforcement officials are also appealing to the public for any information concerning Pheobe's whereabouts or the movements of a grey Hyundai IX35 vehicle between May 15 and May 18 in the surrounding Gin Gin area.
