Israel Uses US-Made Bomb in Attack on Hezbollah Leader
Israel used an American-made guided bomb to kill Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut last week, confirmed US Senator Mark Kelly. The weapon was a 2,000-lb Mark 84 series bomb. The Israeli military said Nasrallah was eliminated in a strike on the group's headquarters in Beirut's southern suburbs.

During an interview with NBC, Kelly stated that Israel employed a 2,000-lb (900-kg) Mark 84 series bomb, marking the first US confirmation regarding the weapon used.
The Israeli military announced on Saturday that it had eliminated Nasrallah in a strike at the group's central command headquarters in Beirut's southern suburbs.
Although the Israeli military has not commented on the weapons used, the Pentagon was not immediately available for comment.
Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs) convert standard unguided bombs using fins and a GPS guidance system into precision-guided weapons.
The US remains Israel's longstanding ally and primary arms supplier.
