FBI Director Kash Patel erupted during a tense Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, launching a direct attack on Senator Adam Schiff, labeling him a “political buffoon” and “the biggest fraud” over his role in perpetuating the Russiagate narrative.

Patel’s outburst came after hours of questioning that focused on his leadership, his handling of the Charlie Kirk assassination case, and broader accusations of politicization inside the bureau.

Patel insisted that recent dismissals of FBI staff were strictly merit-based and tied to qualifications, rejecting claims they were driven by politics or case assignments.

He defended his controversial decision to post publicly that a suspect was in custody in the Kirk case, stressing that transparency and the rapid release of surveillance footage led to over eleven thousand tips and ultimately the arrest of the true assailant.

Turning his fire on Schiff, Patel declared that the senator had spent years misleading the American public and undermining national security with false claims about Russian collusion.

He said his team had “countlessly proven” Schiff wrong, and vowed not to let outdated narratives distort the bureau’s mission under his leadership.

Patel highlighted what he described as the FBI’s renewed success: thousands of violent criminals arrested, illegal firearms seized, traffickers prosecuted, and measurable progress in reducing the murder rate nationwide.

He said morale inside the FBI has improved under his reforms, pointing to the empowerment of field offices and a stronger focus on real threats rather than political theater.

While some Democratic senators accused him of partisanship, Patel stood firm, portraying himself as a director restoring integrity, accountability, and results.

His testimony underscored his determination to defend the FBI’s record and to resist what he called the “buffoonery” of politicians using the bureau for their own narratives.
