Melania Trump Ushers in Holiday Season with 2025 White House Christmas Tree
First Lady greets Michigan-grown fir outside the North Portico, signalling start of festive decor at the People’s House
First Lady Melania Trump welcomed the 2025 official Christmas tree to the White House on Monday, marking the start of this year’s holiday season.
The tree — a concolor fir grown by Korson’s Tree Farms in Michigan — arrived via horse-drawn carriage at the North Portico, to be installed in the Blue Room for public viewing.
Melania Trump greeted the arrival dressed in a cream-coloured coat and deep-red gloves, exchanging warm handshakes with the carriage driver and the team who delivered the tree.
As she posed beside the evergreen, she described it as “a beautiful tree,” expressing enthusiasm for the festive season ahead.
The annual presentation follows tradition: Korson’s Tree Farms won this year’s Grand Champion title from the National Christmas Tree Association — the award that grants the right to supply the White House Christmas tree.
The selected fir, towering and fragrant, promises to be the centrepiece of holiday decorations scheduled for unveiling in the coming weeks.
This will be the first full festive display under Melania’s direction since her return to the role of First Lady in January.
With public tours of the White House set to resume on December second, visitors will have the opportunity to view the holiday décor across the State Floor.
As families across the United States begin planning their own holiday celebrations, the White House tree ceremony serves as a reminder of longstanding traditions, offering a sense of continuity and seasonal cheer at the highest level of state.
