Musk Backs Trump, While Employees Donate to Harris

Elon Musk supports Donald Trump for the White House, while employees at his firms—Tesla, SpaceX, and X—primarily donate to Kamala Harris. Tesla workers contributed one dollar 42,824 to Harris and one dollar 24,840 to Trump. SpaceX employees gave one dollar 34,526 to Harris and one dollar 7,652 to Trump. X employees donated one dollar 13,213 to Harris and less than one dollar 500 to Trump.
In a political twist, billionaire Elon Musk endorses Republican Donald Trump for the White House, while employees at his companies—Tesla, SpaceX, and X—largely donate to Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

According to OpenSecrets, Tesla workers have contributed one dollar 42,824 to Harris and one dollar 24,840 to Trump.

SpaceX employees have given one dollar 34,526 to Harris and one dollar 7,652 to Trump.

X, formerly Twitter, employees have donated one dollar 13,213 to Harris and less than one dollar 500 to Trump.

Despite Musk's rightward shift, and plans to relocate X and SpaceX to Texas from California, many of his employees remain in Democratic California.

The data involves donations from employees, owners, and their immediate family members, as direct company donations to federal campaigns are prohibited.
