Nikki Haley Defends Husband Against Trump's Mockery
Nikki Haley, former South Carolina governor and Republican challenger to Donald Trump, firmly responded to Trump's ridicule about her husband's absence due to his military deployment.
She emphasized that anyone who disrespects military families is unfit to be commander-in-chief.
Trump teased Haley about her husband's location during a rally, unaware of Major Michael Haley's deployment in the Horn of Africa since June. Haley, 52, condemned Trump's jibe, inviting him to address her directly in a debate.
She also highlighted the need for mental competency tests for politicians over 75, questioning Trump's ability while defending her husband's service.
General (ret.) Don Bolduc was among those who censured Trump's remarks, calling them disrespectful to military families. Michael Haley himself took to Twitter, indirectly calling Trump the 'dumbest one' in a post.
Trump continued his criticism of Haley, labeling her the choice of globalists and warlords, and falsely claiming she supports a massive national tax and desires to cut social services.
Haley, who recently launched her "Beast of the Southeast" bus tour, called for mental competency tests for older politicians, citing President Joe Biden's alleged memory issues highlighted in a recent Special Counsel report.
She positioned herself as a fresh, generational leader capable of winning the presidency.
