One Dead, Thousands Evacuated as Floods Hit North Queensland

North Queensland, Australia: Torrential rains and severe flooding have led to widespread devastation in the region, with more than 1,200 millimeters of rain falling over the past three days.
The cities of Ingham and Townsville have been particularly affected, with floodwaters inundating homes, disrupting power supplies, and closing roads.
Thousands of people have been evacuated as rising floodwaters continue to pose a threat.
The storms have also forced the closure of schools in the affected areas.
Authorities warn that the floods are expected to worsen overnight, with further rain anticipated.
As of now, one fatality has been confirmed due to the extreme weather conditions.
