Sam Altman is preparing to part with his vast Hawaiian estate, placing it on the market with a price tag of 49 million dollars.

The property was purchased by him only four years ago, in July 2021, and just eighteen months ago he married his longtime partner, Oliver Mulherin, on the grounds.

Altman originally acquired the beachfront home and its expansive lands in a secretive deal, revealed only in November 2023.

Since then, Altman’s career has soared with the release of the ChatGPT artificial intelligence model in 2022, which brought him unprecedented public visibility.

Altman rarely shares details of his private life.

When he and Mulherin wed in January 2024, the ceremony remained so far from the headlines that when photos began circulating online, many assumed they were artificially generated images.

The speculation ended only after Altman confirmed the marriage himself.

The palm trees visible in the few released images are just one of many attractions the estate offers.

The secluded property is located on one of Hawaii’s largest islands and spans about 22 acres.

It includes ten bedrooms and eleven and a half bathrooms, divided between the main residence and a guesthouse, making it the second most expensive home currently listed for sale in Hawaii.

“The estate offers exceptional privacy with a main house, guesthouse, and beachfront bungalow, each carefully designed,” read the listing.

“Every corner is intended for relaxation, entertaining, and enjoyment in style”.

Over the years that Altman has owned the property, which previously belonged to Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, he has carried out numerous upgrades and improvements, with special emphasis on advanced security systems installed to “ensure peace and discretion”.
