Singer Shakira will pay a fine of eight million euros after being accused of evading taxes worth 14.5 million euros during the years 2012-2014.

However, the trial ended earlier than expected with a settlement between the prosecution and the singer. This morning, as Shakira arrived at the hearing, fans waiting outside the courtroom greeted her, and she waved and smiled back.

Previously, Shakira had refused to reach an agreement with the prosecution, claiming her full innocence, arguing that she did not reside in Spain during those years. She also attempted to petition last year for the dismissal of the case, but her petition was rejected.
