The Sussexes' Royal Rebound: Could Harry and Meghan Markle Return to the UK?

Speculations are rife about a potential return of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the UK, despite their acrimonious parting with the British Royal family. This forecast comes from an intimate source: Grant Harrold, King Charles' former butler.
It is "very possible" that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, will eventually move back to the UK, despite the couple’s bitter split from the British royal family, King Charles’ former butler has claimed.

The Sussexes' exit from royal life in 2020, often termed "Megxit," saw them leave the UK for sunny California. Since their departure, their visits to their homeland have been sporadic.

Harrold, who served Charles from 2004 to 2011 during his tenure as Prince of Wales, firmly believes that a homecoming is not entirely off the cards for the couple.

Despite the geographic and emotional distance, Harrold stated that Harry might still hold a deep affection for his homeland. "I’d never dismiss the possibility; it’s entirely feasible that Harry may eventually feel the tug of home," Harrold told The Post.

Prince Harry's ties with the UK, according to Harrold, are unlikely to ever be completely severed. His phraseology, saying that Harry will "always want to keep his fingers in that pie," underscores the prince's enduring connection with his homeland.

"Meghan doesn’t really have any family here as such; all her family is in the States, and that’s where Harry has decided he wants to set up his home," Harrold further elaborated.

Their withdrawal from active royal duties created a significant furor. This was exacerbated by the couple's revelations in a much-publicized interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 and the subsequent release of Harry’s unorthodox memoir, "Spare," in January.

Royal family members were reportedly puzzled by Harry's appearance at his estranged father's coronation, given the strained relationships within the family. Despite this, Harrold is still optimistic about the possible return of the Sussexes to the UK.

The Sussexes' eviction from Frogmore Cottage by King Charles, however, added a layer of complexity to the situation. In an unexpected move, Charles offered the cottage to his brother, Prince Andrew. Despite these odds, Harrold maintains that a move back to the UK for the Sussexes is "very possible.".
