Trump condemns Georgia school shooting; Harris calls for stricter gun laws.
Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump condemned the recent high school shooting in Winder, Georgia, which claimed the lives of at least four people. He expressed his condolences to the victims' families on his Truth Social platform, describing the shooter as a 'sick and deranged monster' and lamented that 'these cherished children were taken from us far too soon.'

Following this tragic event, Vice President Kamala Harris has called for action to stop the epidemic of gun violence in the United States. Harris suggests an assault-weapons ban and stricter gun laws, including universal background checks and red flag laws.

Meanwhile, in international news, Russian President Vladimir Putin was aware of efforts by state-funded news outlet RT to meddle in the 2024 US presidential election, according to the White House. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby confirmed Putin's involvement, following the indictment of two RT employees and the sanctioning of its top editors.

In Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced a serious setback as NDP leader Jagmeet Singh withdrew party support for the Liberal government. Trudeau now needs backing from other opposition parties to pass budgets and survive confidence votes, following Singh's criticism of the Liberals for failing to counter the Conservative opposition and favoring corporate interests.

Over in Europe, Rome's ancient Arch of Constantine, built in 315 to celebrate Emperor Constantine's victory, was damaged by lightning during a heavy storm. While some fragments fell, they were secured and repairs have commenced, drawing attention to the increasing concerns over climate change.

And in the realm of social media, Meta's Oversight Board ruled that the phrase 'From the River to the Sea' is not a policy violation. This independent review found that the slogan did not breach Meta's rules on hate speech or violence, noting its varied interpretations.
