UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron was tricked into a video call with someone pretending to be former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. He became suspicious and stopped responding when he realized it was a hoax. This incident was made public to prevent potential manipulation.
UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron was deceived into text messaging and having a video call with an individual impersonating former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

The Foreign Office (FCDO) confirmed the hoax, stating that Cameron became suspicious during the call and stopped responding when the situation became clear.

The FCDO released details regarding the incident to prevent potential manipulation.

This is not the first time Cameron has encountered such a situation; in 2015, a similar hoax call occurred while he was Prime Minister.
