The upcoming UK general election is anticipated to result in the most diverse Parliament in the nation's history, with a significant number of MPs of Indian heritage.

Analysis by the British Future think tank predicts that the Labour Party will have the largest representation of ethnic minority MPs if they secure a majority.

Currently, about 14 percent of MPs have an ethnic minority background, moving towards better reflecting the diversity of the British electorate.

Key British Indian candidates include Praful Nargund in Islington North, Jas Athwal in Ilford South, and Rajesh Agrawal in Leicester East.

High-profile MPs such as Conservative Alok Sharma and Labour's Virendra Sharma are not seeking re-election.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to retain his seat, along with former Cabinet members Priti Patel and Suella Braverman.

The newly elected Parliament will likely see around 158 new MPs.
