Vice-President Vance Champions Pro-Life Policies at Annual March for Life in Washington
At the 2026 March for Life rally, U.S. Vice-President J.D. Vance and other Republican leaders reaffirmed efforts to restrict abortion and promote family-centred policies amid calls for further action
Vice-President J.D. Vance addressed tens of thousands of anti-abortion activists in Washington, D.C., on Friday at the annual March for Life rally, touting the Trump administration’s record on pro-life policies and urging continued efforts to protect unborn children and support families.
Speaking on the National Mall before the traditional march toward the U.S. Supreme Court, Vance framed the 2022 Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade as a landmark achievement and highlighted recent expansions of restrictive measures on abortion-related foreign aid under the Mexico City policy.
He also underscored the broader aim of fostering a “culture that celebrates life at all stages,” emphasising the importance of policies that make it easier for American families to raise children, and announcing that he and his wife are expecting their fourth child.
President Donald Trump, whose judicial appointments helped secure the Dobbs decision, delivered a prerecorded message underscoring his administration’s commitment to life and family values.
The event featured remarks from other Republican figures, including the Speaker of the House and congressional representatives, as well as leaders and advocates within the pro-life movement who reiterated their dedication to advancing legislation at state and federal levels.
Organisers said the March draws tens of thousands of participants annually and remains a central gathering for those advocating against abortion rights while celebrating pro-life victories since Roe was overturned.
