Bosch to Slash 3,500 Positions in Home Appliance Division Amid Cost-Cutting Measures
Bosch plans to eliminate 3,500 jobs at its BSH home appliance branch by 2027 to stay competitive in a difficult economy, with 1,000 cuts occurring this year.
High energy costs from the Ukraine conflict, rising interest rates, and reduced exports have pressured German industries, including auto manufacturing, leading Bosch to previously announce 1,500 job cuts.
BSH aims to simplify operations and focus on growth markets, affecting primarily administrative roles. BSH has been wholly owned by Bosch since over a decade and has a global workforce of 60,000, with 17,000 in Germany.
Other German firms like Miele and chemicals companies Bayer and BASF are also trimming their workforce to lower expenses.
