Jordan Johnson-Doyle, a 25-year-old British backpacker from Southport, has been confirmed dead in Malaysia, according to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Johnson-Doyle was reported missing after he was last seen in Kuala Lumpur on the evening of May 27. His mother, Leanne Burnett, stated that the family was actively engaged with Malaysian authorities and local police to locate him.
On May 30, Merseyside Police acknowledged receiving information regarding Johnson-Doyle's disappearance and indicated they were in communication with his family to provide support during this distressing period.
The situation escalated when Malaysian police reported finding a body at a construction site in Bangsar on June 1, although officials have not yet definitively confirmed the identity of the deceased.
Leanne Burnett traveled to Malaysia earlier in the week to assist in the search for her son and had utilized social media to solicit help.
