Delta Flight 520: Emergency Exit Slide Falls Off Mid-Air, Forcing Emergency Landing at JFK Airport

A Delta Airlines Boeing 767 plane flying from New York to Los Angeles made an emergency landing at John F.
Kennedy International Airport after one of its emergency exit slides fell off during take-off.

The incident occurred on April 26, and the plane landed safely around 8:35 a.m. local time.

Delta and the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the incident and reported that the plane returned due to a crew-reported vibration.

After landing, it was observed that the emergency slide had separated from the aircraft.

A Delta plane flew for 33 minutes before making an emergency return due to an incident, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The FAA will investigate the matter, and Delta is cooperating.

A passenger reported a loud noise on the plane, making announcements hard to hear, leaving them feeling scared and overwhelmed.
