Donald Trump Sworn in as 47th President of the United States

Donald Trump takes office with promises to reverse previous administration's policies
Donald Trump has been inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States, marking his return to the White House.

During the ceremony, which was moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda due to inclement weather, Trump took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice John Roberts.

In his inaugural address, President Trump outlined a series of executive orders planned for immediate implementation.

These orders aim to change a range of policies from border security to energy production and diversity programs within the federal government.

His agenda seeks to reverse the policies of his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.

The event included attendance from several notable figures, including tech industry leaders like Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk, who were given prominent positions at the swearing-in.

Former presidents and their spouses, including Barack Obama and George W. Bush, also attended the ceremony.

Vice President JD Vance was sworn in alongside Trump, pledging commitment to the administration's goals.

Trump reiterated a message of national sovereignty and internal safety, emphasizing themes of restoring America's prominence globally.

Before the ceremony, an indoor parade replaced the traditional outdoor event due to freezing temperatures.

The celebrations were reminiscent of Trump's campaign rallies, featuring military bands and other traditional inaugural fanfare.

President Trump emphasized a mandate to reverse what he described as detrimental policies of previous administrations.

He vowed to reclaim America's global standing and emphasized a return to 'America First' principles.

This inauguration is seen as a historic political comeback for Trump, who previously served as president from 2017 to 2021, after which he lost his reelection bid in 2020. Trump's second term follows a controversial and unprecedented campaign, overcoming previous legal challenges and political setbacks.

His inaugural activities also included meeting with outgoing President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, continuing the tradition of a peaceful transfer of power despite their past political rivalry.

Following the inauguration, Biden departed the Capitol, marking the end of his presidency.

As the Trump administration unfolds, significant attention is expected on how his policies will reshape various sectors, including immigration and energy.

The coming days will reveal the extent and impact of his planned executive orders and legislative collaborations.
