Iran Threatens to Block United States Warships from Persian Gulf as Naval Standoff Escalates

A senior Iranian military commander has warned that United States naval vessels will be barred from entering the Persian Gulf while the American aircraft carrier USS George Washington rearms for potential strikes. The warning follows recent naval mine attacks on two crude supertankers in the critical Strait of Hormuz, threatening a major escalation in the region.
