Trump Administration Uses Rare Trade Authority to Impose Fifty Percent Tariffs on Canadian Imports
The White House invoked Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 to impose new duties on about twenty billion dollars of Canadian goods, citing alleged discriminatory treatment of United States exports and escalating tensions with a major trading partner.
