Amber Potter, 23, has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for causing the death of David Sinar, 64, during a car crash on September 15, 2021.
The accident occurred while Potter was driving from Glastonbury to Norfolk at 70mph and sending text messages, voice messages, and selfies.
Evidence confirmed she sent 55 messages during her journey, made no attempt to brake, and initially blamed the crash on Sinar's scooter lights being off, which CCTV footage refuted.
Judge Katharine Moore condemned Potter's actions as dangerously negligent.
Potter was also banned from driving for 45 months post-release and must retake her driving test.
The case has been used to underline the severe risks of distracted driving.
