Elon Musk Returns to White House for Dinner with President Trump and Saudi Crown Prince

Tesla and SpaceX founder makes first public White House appearance since feud with President Donald Trump at high-profile U.S.–Saudi diplomatic event
Elon Musk attended a high-profile White House dinner on Tuesday night hosted by President Donald Trump in honour of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The appearance marks Musk’s first public visit to the White House since their public falling-out earlier this year.

The event brought together key figures from government, business and sport, including Musk, Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and prominent tech executives.

President Trump praised the gathering, declaring it “the biggest business leaders in the world” and offered warm remarks about Musk, saying “I like Elon… I’ve always liked him.”

The rift between Musk and Trump emerged in June following Musk’s opposition to the administration’s major fiscal legislation, dubbed the “Big Beautiful Bill,” over its impact on national debt and EV incentives.

Musk then announced plans for a third-party called the “America Party,” widening the breach.

Relations gradually improved in recent months after a brief meeting in September, culminating in Tuesday’s dinner appearance.

The Saudi visit and dinner reflect the broader diplomatic strategy of the Trump administration to deepen ties with Riyadh.

Musk’s presence underscores the increasing overlap between U.S. diplomacy and global technology and investment outreach, positioning him as a bridge between corporates and statecraft.

Analysts say Musk’s attendance signals a thawing of relations with the president and underscores his ongoing alignment with U.S.–Saudi economic ambitions.

It may also mark a strategic pivot for Musk as he balances his business interests, political positioning and global outreach in an era of heightened geopolitical influence.

As the evening drew to a close, the symbolism of Musk’s return to the White House stage was unmistakable: a rapprochement in the public eye, aligned with a major bilateral diplomatic event meant to project U.S. leadership and Saudi partnership on the world stage.
