Man Convicted of Fraud After Booking Over 120 Free Flights Posing as Flight Attendant
Tiron Alexander exploited airline systems to travel without payment
Tiron Alexander, a 35-year-old man from Florida, has been convicted of wire fraud and unlawfully entering secure airport areas after impersonating a flight attendant to secure over 120 free flights since 2018.
Exploiting airline policies that allow crew members to fly for free on other carriers, Alexander falsely claimed employment with seven different airlines, using fabricated credentials including about 30 badge numbers and hire dates to book tickets through a crew-only portal.
Although he passed necessary TSA security checks, his fraudulent activity was eventually detected through Spirit Airlines’ logs, where he booked 34 of the flights.
The Transportation Security Administration began investigating him in 2023, and he was arrested in February 2025 while attempting to fly to Australia.
Previously employed in airline customer service and having worked as a flight attendant from 2013 to 2015, Alexander also unsuccessfully sought to re-enter aviation roles in recent years.
He faces up to 20 years in prison for each of four wire fraud counts and an additional 10 years for the airport security violation, with fines potentially totaling $1.25 million.
