SpaceX Launches 24 Starlink Satellites in Dual Space Missions
Successful back-to-back launches from Florida and California bolster the Starlink constellation
On November 14th, SpaceX achieved a remarkable feat by launching two sets of Starlink satellites on the same day from different locations.
At 8:21 am EST, a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 24 Starlink satellites lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
This followed an earlier launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The dual launches are a testament to SpaceX's dedication to expanding its Starlink satellite network, aimed at providing high-speed internet to remote and underserved regions globally.
The Falcon 9 rocket's first stage, making its 18th flight, successfully landed on the SpaceX droneship 'Just Read the Instructions' in the Atlantic Ocean.
This seasoned booster is an integral part of many Starlink missions.
With these new additions, the constellation now exceeds 6,560 active satellites, bringing global internet capability closer to reality.
'Just Read the Instructions' is a SpaceX autonomous spaceport droneship operating out of Port Canaveral, Florida, built on the modified barge Marmac 303.
Named after a fictional spacecraft from Iain M. Banks' Culture series, this droneship supports sea landings for high-velocity missions.
