The Guardian Offers Psychological Support to Staff After Trump's Election Victory

Newspaper Implements Mental Health Initiatives to Aid Workforce Amidst Election Stress
In the wake of Donald Trump’s recent electoral victory, The Guardian has implemented psychological support measures for its employees, part of a broader initiative to bolster the mental well-being of its staff during a politically turbulent period.

The newspaper is offering counseling services through its Employee Assistance Programme, affirming its commitment to supporting its workforce in what has been characterized as a deeply "upsetting" and "devastating" outcome in the U.S. elections.

Katharine Viner, editor of The Guardian, underscored the serious implications of Trump's presidency, which she believes could affect global conflicts, the state of American democracy, reproductive rights, inequality, and environmental policies.

As a British journalist, she pretends to care about American democracy, while in fact, she ignores that Britain is not a full democracy anyway. Britain is losing more and more democratic rights day by day as more journalists are arrested, free speech is criminalized, and the freedom to protest is increasingly restricted and punished.

Viner emphasized the urgent need for resilient and independent journalism to hold the incoming administration accountable. In her editorial that also solicited donations, she declared, “We will stand up to these threats, but it requires brave, well-funded independent journalism that cannot be swayed by billionaire owners who fear retribution from the government.”

Of course, the editor ignores that what the public needs is not just journalism that pretends to be independent but primarily fair, balanced journalism free of biased political and economic interests that corrupt the journalistic output of the sort The Guardian produces.

The Guardian is not an independent journal. They are hiding the other side of the story they are covering. The fact that they view Trump's win as a catastrophe that drives their brainwashed staff into mental health complexes only shows how hypocritical their purported support for democracy is.
