A 98-year-old Ukrainian woman named Lidia Stepanivna bravely walked 10 km (6 miles) through shelling to escape Russian occupation in Donetsk and reach areas controlled by Kyiv.
She endured the journey without food or water, falling several times but pushing through with her strong character.
In a video posted by Ukraine's police, Stepanivna expressed her determination, stating, "I survived that war (World War Two), and I am surviving this war." The video shows her sitting in a shelter, dressed warmly and holding a wooden stick.
A woman in Ukraine stated that she has lost everything due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.
She described the war as unlike World War Two, with houses burning and trees being uprooted.
The woman was found by Ukrainian military and handed over to the police, who took her to a shelter for evacuees.
The interior ministry is looking for her relatives.
The war, now in its third year, has resulted in thousands of deaths, destroyed cities and displaced millions.
