Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and X, has reportedly been staying at the headquarters of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Washington, D.C., according to a report by WIRED.

The office is located in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, near the White House.

Musk's decision to stay at DOGE headquarters comes after he was allegedly denied office space in the West Wing by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

He also claimed he was invited to stay in the White House’s Lincoln Bedroom but declined.

Musk has a long history of adopting unconventional work habits.

In previous years, he has been known to sleep on Tesla’s factory floors during peak production periods, stating that his presence motivated employees.

He has described this approach as part of his 'hardcore' work culture, emphasizing long hours and direct leadership.

DOGE, under Musk’s leadership, is focused on cutting government spending and streamlining operations.

According to reports, the department has implemented cost-saving measures, including reductions in hiring and cuts to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.

One of the initiatives under review is the production of pennies, which reportedly cost more to manufacture than their face value, leading to an estimated $179 million loss in 2023.

Musk’s management style has drawn scrutiny in the past, with reports of employees at Tesla and X working long hours and, in some cases, sleeping at work to meet deadlines.

While Musk has stated that such practices demonstrate commitment, critics have raised concerns about workplace culture and employee well-being.
