Firefly Aerospace Valued Over $2 Billion After New Funding
Texas-Based Space Startup Secures $175 Million in Latest Funding Round
Firefly Aerospace, based in Austin, Texas, has achieved a valuation of over $2 billion after securing $175 million in a Series D funding round led by RPM Ventures.
The company, which specializes in small and medium launch vehicles for commercial space operations, aims to expand its market reach with its Elytra line of orbital vehicles.
These vehicles offer a range of on-orbit services, including hosting, rideshare, and delivery missions.
Firefly is preparing for its inaugural lunar mission, Blue Ghost, as part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Service initiative.
The recent funding round includes both existing and new investors, such as GiantLeap Capital and Human Element.
Firefly intends to use the funds to transition to full-scale production of its Alpha rocket and accelerate the development of new vehicle hardware.
The startup is working on several Alpha rocket launches for clients like Lockheed Martin, L3Harris, and NASA, alongside a collaboration with Northrop Grumman to create a medium launch vehicle.
