Man Sets Himself on Fire Outside Trump Hush-Money Trial Courthouse: Witnesses

A man set himself on fire outside a New York courthouse where the historic trial of former US President Donald Trump was taking place.
Witnesses reported seeing the man throw pamphlets in the air before dousing himself with a flammable substance and lighting himself on fire.

The man burned for several minutes before being put out by bystanders and emergency responders.

The trial involves 12 jurors and six alternates who will determine if Trump is guilty of breaking the law in relation to a hush-money payment.

A man was severely burned in front of CNN reporters near a Manhattan courthouse where a high-profile trial is taking place.

The incident occurred after jury selection was completed, and the man was engulfed in flames for over three minutes.

Witnesses described the man as completely charred.

The courthouse, which has been heavily guarded due to the trial, drew large crowds on the first day but has since dwindled.

A smell of smoke lingered after the incident, and a police officer used a fire extinguisher to put out any remaining flames.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

A historic trial is underway with 12 jurors and 6 alternates deciding if a former US president has broken the law.

The jury is composed of 7 men and 5 women, including 2 corporate lawyers, a software engineer, a speech therapist, and an English teacher.

Most are not originally from New York, coming from various parts of the US and countries like Ireland and Lebanon.
