Russia: Deputy Defense Minister Arrested on Suspicion of Taking Bribes
Timur Ivanov, one of the twelve deputies of the Russian Defense Minister, was arrested on suspicion of receiving "particularly large" bribes, according to the authorities in the country. According to the Russian news agency RIA, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu are aware of the arrest.
In 2022, the US and the European Union imposed sanctions on Ivanov following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
