Trump Pays $175 Million Reduced Penalty In New York Civil Fraud Case
Donald Trump has paid a $175 million bond in a New York civil fraud case, significantly lower than the original $454 million mandated by the court.
This payment follows a decision by a New York appeals court to reduce the required bond, granting Trump 10 days for the payment. This move prevents the seizure of Trump's assets by New York authorities during the appeals process.
The $175 million bond was provided by Knight Specialty Insurance Company. The case against Trump, led by Judge Arthur Engoron, found him and his adult sons guilty of inflating asset values to deceive banks and insurers.
Besides this case, Trump faces multiple legal challenges, including allegations of falsifying business records and attempting to overturn the 2020 election results.
