Trump to Sign Executive Order Targeting Pro-Palestinian Protesters and Hamas Sympathizers in the U.S.
The executive order will include measures for deporting non-citizens involved in protests and canceling student visas of Hamas sympathizers.
U.S. President Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order aimed at addressing antisemitism and curbing pro-Palestinian protests in the United States.
The order will include provisions for the deportation of non-citizen college students and other resident aliens who have participated in protests in support of Palestinians.
The White House confirmed that the Justice Department will be tasked with prosecuting terroristic threats, arson, vandalism, and violence against American Jews.
Trump further stated that his administration would cancel the student visas of individuals identified as Hamas sympathizers on U.S. college campuses, which he characterized as being increasingly influenced by radical ideologies.
The executive order, which is expected to take effect in 2025, reflects heightened concerns over rising antisemitism and political activism related to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
The decision has drawn attention to the balance between national security measures and freedom of expression in the U.S.
