Delta Air Lines Jet Flips Over at Toronto Pearson, 18 Injured
Endeavor Air Flight 4819, carrying 80 people, crash-lands at Toronto Pearson International Airport with 18 injuries and no fatalities reported.
On Monday, a Delta Air Lines jet operated by Endeavor Air as Flight 4819, with 76 passengers and 4 crew members, crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport after arriving from Minneapolis.
The aircraft flipped over during landing, ending up upside down with its wings clipped.
Airport fire chief Todd Aitken confirmed that the runway was dry and there were no crosswind conditions at the time.
Paramedic services reported that 18 individuals were injured, including three critically injured, and all the injured were transported to local hospitals by ambulance or helicopter.
Federal Transport Minister Anita Anand and Ontario Premier Doug Ford confirmed that there were no fatalities.
Following the incident, Toronto Pearson suspended all flights for over two hours before resuming operations.
Investigators from the Canadian Transportation Safety Board, assisted by a team from the US Federal Aviation Administration, have been deployed to the scene to examine the cause of the accident.
Delta acknowledged the incident, stating that initial reports indicate no fatalities.
