Police thwarted attempts by pro-Palestinian demonstrators to set up a new encampment at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Officers arrested 27 people late Monday during the demonstration, stated Rick Braziel, UCLA's associate vice chancellor for campus safety.
The individuals were cited for willful disruption of university operations and one for interfering with an officer.
They were issued 14-day orders to stay away from UCLA and then released.
The protest disrupted final exams and led to property damage and injuries among six police officers and a security guard.
Students arrested could face disciplinary actions, including being banned from campus.
The protests are part of a larger movement demanding universities cease business with Israel or supporting companies.
Previous protests resulted in the reassignment of the campus police chief and the establishment of a new campus safety office.
