Metropolitan Police Arrived at Prince Andrew’s Estate and Took His Firearms
The former prince voluntarily surrendered his firearms license and weapons following a police visit.
Prince Andrew has given up his firearms license following a visit by officers from the Metropolitan Police.
According to reports, police arrived at Andrew’s estate in November, shortly before he was due to vacate the property.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated, “On Wednesday, the nineteenth of November, firearms licensing officers from the Metropolitan Police attended an address in Windsor to request that a man in his sixties voluntarily surrender his firearms license and his weapons”.
The police confirmed that the individual handed over both the license and the firearms, but did not provide further details.
As of now, it remains unclear why Andrew, a well-known and dedicated hunting enthusiast, chose to relinquish his firearms license.
The decision means that he is permitted to use a hunting rifle only while under supervision.
It is important to clarify that surrendering a firearms license does not necessarily mean that the individual no longer has any access to their weapons.
