Pentagon to Initiate Migrant Transfers to Guantanamo Bay
First flights scheduled as part of expanded detention operations
The Pentagon will begin transferring migrants to Guantanamo Bay this weekend under President Trump’s order to expand illegal immigrants detention operations. Two flights are scheduled as part of a broader effort to deport individuals without legal status in the U.S.
The Migrant Operations Center at the base will be expanded to house up to thirty thousand detainees, focusing on high-priority criminal cases.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will oversee the facility, with the military providing additional security support.
