Conservative Policy Group Unveils ‘Project 2026’ Agenda to Support Trump-Era Priorities
Heritage Foundation builds on its 2025 blueprint with a forward-looking plan focused on national security, economic growth and institutional reform
A prominent conservative think tank closely associated with President Donald Trump’s policy agenda has outlined its next agenda, dubbed ‘Project 2026,’ aimed at advancing a range of initiatives consistent with the administration’s priorities as the United States approaches its semiquincentennial year.
The plan, developed by the Heritage Foundation and allied organisations, builds on the earlier Project 2025 blueprint that guided a significant part of the president’s return to the White House and many of his first-term policies.
Project 2026 sets out a series of “Four Cornerstones” intended to shape national discourse and public policy, emphasising the strengthening of the American family, the dignity of work and economic freedom, national security imperatives and the preservation of American heritage and citizenship.
Organisers describe the agenda as a continuation of efforts to restore and build on foundational principles while responding to contemporary challenges.
The new agenda highlights several key focus areas for the coming year.
Prominent among them is intensifying efforts to counter the influence of the Chinese Communist Party, which the group identifies as a primary foreign threat.
The initiative also calls for reducing federal regulations perceived to hamper business growth, reinforcing immigration enforcement, and advancing measures to ensure election integrity, including requirements for proof of citizenship at the polls.
Project 2026 also advocates for what its proponents describe as “digital sovereignty,” proposing actions to address the role of large technology companies, and for policies designed to prioritise energy independence by streamlining regulatory frameworks.
Social policy themes include measures to support traditional family structures and to reduce abortion through legislative and executive actions, reflecting the broader conservative agenda that has characterised much of the Trump administration’s approach.
Heritage Foundation leaders say the agenda is designed not as a partisan manifesto but as a coherent set of policy priorities that can sustain momentum into twenty twenty-six and beyond, while encouraging engagement with lawmakers, state officials and the broader public on issues central to national renewal.
The plan underscores the group’s continued influence in shaping conservative policy discourse within and outside the White House as federal priorities evolve heading into the nation’s two hundred and fiftieth anniversary year.
