P Diddy: Raids on Sean Combs's homes were 'unprecedented ambush', lawyer says
Sean "Diddy" Combs's homes in Los Angeles and Miami were searched by Homeland Security as part of a sex trafficking probe in New York, triggering criticisms of excessive force from his lawyer, Aaron Dyer.
Dyer condemned the raids as an "unprecedented ambush" and criticized the treatment of Combs's family and employees, although Combs was neither detained nor restricted from traveling.
Despite civil lawsuits accusing Combs of sexual assault and other crimes, he denies all allegations and vows to fight for his innocence.
NBC News reported that federal officials interviewed four individuals in Manhattan regarding the investigation, which also touches on allegations of assault, and solicitation and distribution of narcotics and guns. Several of Combs's phones were confiscated in Miami.
Combs, a major figure in music, faces various lawsuits related to sexual assault. In one case, a music producer accused Combs of coercing engagement with sex workers, a claim Combs's legal team vehemently denies.
Another lawsuit by former girlfriend Cassie accused him of severe abuse, which was quickly settled. Additional accusations include a 1991 assault at Syracuse University and a gang rape two decades ago, all of which Combs denies, asserting his intention to defend his name and truth vigorously.
Combs, also known as Puff Daddy and P Diddy, is a prominent hip-hop producer and executive, founder of Bad Boy Records, and a three-time Grammy winner, recognized for his contributions to music and culture. His recent album, "The Love Album - Off the Grid," received a Grammy nomination for the best progressive R&B album.
