Pro-Israel comedian Michael Rapaport expresses his backing for Trump's Gaza plan.
Rapaport argues that earlier peace efforts have not succeeded, while President Trump proposes a plan for U.S. supervision and revitalization of the Gaza Strip.
Pro-Israel comedian Michael Rapaport has voiced his support for President Donald Trump's plan to place the Gaza Strip under U.S. oversight, arguing that conventional peace efforts between Israelis and Palestinians have not been effective.
In a video shared on the social media platform X, Rapaport pointed out that various attempts such as peace agreements, normalization, and two-state solutions have not produced the desired outcomes, suggesting that Trump's initiative represents a new tactic.
During a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Trump declared that the United States would assume control of the Gaza Strip.
Trump stated that the U.S. would be tasked with eliminating hazardous unexploded bombs and other weapons, demolishing damaged structures, and initiating an economic development program to generate jobs and housing for local inhabitants.
This proposal follows a ceasefire agreement reached a few weeks prior between Israel and Hamas, which ended a conflict that began on October 7, 2023.
The ceasefire, along with a related hostage arrangement, was signed on January 16 by representatives from Israel, Hamas, the United States, and Qatar in Doha.
The proposal and Rapaport's remarks add to the ongoing debate regarding alternative strategies for resolving the protracted conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
