Israel Targets Hezbollah and Gaza Amid Escalating Tensions
Israel launched strikes targeting Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut after an alleged drone attack on Prime Minister Netanyahu. Israeli air strikes in Gaza resulted in significant casualties with the Israeli military targeting what they describe as Hamas terror targets. Tensions have escalated between Israel, Hezbollah, and Hamas, with continued conflict leading to a substantial number of casualties in the region.
On Sunday, Israel launched strikes against a Hezbollah 'command centre' in Beirut, Lebanon, after an alleged drone attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence.
The Israeli military reported hitting a Hezbollah intelligence headquarters and an underground weapons facility, eliminating three Hezbollah militants.
Concurrently, in Gaza, Israeli forces conducted an air strike on Beit Lahia, resulting in 73 reported Palestinian fatalities.
Israel stated that its strikes targeted 'Hamas terror targets' and claim the death toll provided by Gaza's authorities does not match their figures.
Over the weekend, approximately 70 projectiles were fired from Lebanon into Israel, with some intercepted.
In southern Lebanon, Israeli strikes were reported in areas including Nabatiyeh, targeting over 65 Hezbollah militants.
Tensions have been escalating since an October 7 Hamas attack last year during Sukkot, which continued with the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
Following these attacks, over 42,000 people have died since the conflict began, including 1,454 in Lebanon.
The Iranian-backed Hezbollah has yet to acknowledge the drone attack on Netanyahu.
Despite continuing offensives, fighting persists as both sides face substantial casualties.
