White House Fires National Security Council Officials After Meeting with Activist
Multiple NSC officials have been dismissed from their roles following an activist's meeting with the President.
The White House has dismissed several senior members of the National Security Council (NSC) after a meeting between President Donald Trump and far-right activist Laura Loomer.
Those let go include Brian Walsh, Director for Intelligence; Thomas Boodry, Senior Director for Legislative Affairs; and David Feith, Senior Director responsible for Technology and National Security.
Sources suggest that Loomer presented information to President Trump, advocating for the ousting of NSC personnel she considered insufficiently aligned with the administration's objectives.
National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Vice President JD Vance, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and Director of the Presidential Personnel Office Sergio Gor were also in attendance at the meeting.
In a statement, Loomer reiterated her dedication to supporting the President's agenda and highlighted the need for rigorous vetting measures to protect national security.
The White House has opted not to comment on the changes in personnel.
These events follow a recent incident involving the NSC, where officials mistakenly included a journalist in a private messaging thread about military operations.
An internal investigation is currently underway regarding the use of non-governmental communication channels for sensitive information.
